
Transient (short-term) visas include the following categories: transit, tourism, medical treatment, business, and other paid or non-paid activities (cultural, artistic, religious, technical and professional activities that have been required by persons or entities established in Argentina).
I) JAPANESE citizens
1) HOLDERS OF VALID JAPANESE PASSPORT DO NOT REQUIRE TRANSITORY VISA FOR BUSINESS, CULTURAL, TECHINICAL AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES, ATTENDING CONVENTIONS, WORKSHOPS OR SEMINARS, OR TOURISM PURPOSES UP TO 90 DAYS (RENEWABLE IN ARGENTINA FOR A SIMILAR PERIOD).
HOLDERS OF A VALID JAPANESE PASSPORT ATTENDING CONVENTIONS, WORKSHOPS OR SEMINARS DO NOT REQUIRE TECHNICAL VISA.
II) OTHER FOREIGN citizens.
Since the requirements may vary depending on your passport, we strongly suggest that you apply for a visa at least 30 days prior to the date of your departure.

D) TRAVEL CERTIFICATE
Passport holders of Kosovo, Nauru, Saharaui Democratic Arabian Republic, Taiwan, Tonga and Tuvalu must apply for a Travel Certificate to visit Argentina in all the migratory categories (ie. tourism, business, technical, professional, etc).
III) GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR TRANSIENT VISAS:
1. Valid passport with an expiration date not less than 6 months.
2. Local identification card (gaikokujin touroku shomeisho), if held.
3. Duly completed and signed visa application form (download).
4. Two photographs, 4x4 cm, white or light blue background, no glasses.
5. Certificate issued by travel agent stating round trip ticket details (Flight Schedule - Airline Reservations and hotel reservations)
6. Proof of sufficient funds, copy of a credit card and bank statement.
7. Letter of invitation from Argentina (recommended). If you are visiting family members or friends, an original invitation letter from them and a copy of their Argentine ID (DNI or Cedula de Identidad), certified by an Argentine Notary Public and then by the "Colegio de Escribanos". If you are not visiting family members or friends the applicant must accompany the reference of the Hotel/Accomodation booked by his/her credit card.
8. Certificate of employment or Letter from your employer in Japan confirming that you are currently employed by the company, position and income. The letter must be original, written in or translated into Spanish, on company letter-head paper, signed by the person in charge. The signature of the person in charge of the company must be certified by the Local Chamber of Commerce or a Notary Public (Apostille). If you own the business, please add a copy of your business' official registration.
9. If you are a student at a University, original letter from your University in Japan (or Student Certificate) confirming that you are currently a student there. The official seal of the letter or the certificate must be certificated by the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and written in or translated into Spanish.
